Tell me about yourself and how your career got started.
I am an expert on all things game day and curate the game day fan experience.
What is this event you are planning for the Giants/Patriots game?
Whole Foods Columbus Circle and I have teamed up to throw a watch party for the Giants v. Patriots game–so we’re fangating at Whole Foods! They have an awesome space called the Tap Room with flat screen TVs, more beer than you can drink, and great sportsfood. We’re going to be augmenting this great menu with a special Hungry Fan menu item made with some of my Hungry Fan™ Fangating™ Spice Blends. We will also be featuring NY and Boston beers to help celebrate this matchup.
Which team are you rooting for in this game?
I’m in NY and will inevitably be surrounded by (hopefully) crazy Giants fans. So I’m going with the home team. (I’m usually neutral).
What are some of your other favorite teams?
Because I have friends on various teams, I typically cheer for players, not teams.
What are your favorite snacks when watching the game at home?
I typically will make a couple different kinds of game day #hungryfanfood (as I call it)–one themed for each team. But my favorite of all things is buffalo wings. Love em. And I can eat way more than you’d probably think!
What should people keep in mind when hosting their own events?
I try to encourage people to mix it up a bit. That’s why I’ve been offering game day recipes for years. Your chili is probably delicious but if you make it for every game, it may be time to bench it for a little while and try something new. What are some future events your are planning?
I’ve got a killer Super Bowl party in the works, some recipe contests in which I’m teaming up with some great partners and giving away some cool prizes, and few other surprises in store.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
In addition to being an avid sports fan, I’m something of a gamer as well. I grew up on NBA Jam, Madden, Need for Speed and PGA Golf video games. When I get some spare time, I’m still very into my video games and have been playing Call of Duty for years.
Other than sports, what are you watching on TV these days?
I’m a Homeland fan (this season has been awesome) and I really like Ray Donovan. I also watch How to Get Away with Murder (love Viola Davis) and Blacklist (James Spader makes that show).
