FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: HUGS, KISSES, Xs AND Os
Ah, the Xs and Os of football. For the longest time, I thought it meant hugs and kisses, but of course I was wrong.
So what does it mean? The answer is quite simple. The Xs are the defensive team, whereas the Os are the offensive team, which is the one with the ball. The center is represented with a square or an X in an O.
Basically, these letters are used to represent players on the field, and then, in turn, used to show different plays and formations.
Easy, right? Each formation is different, which is why there are always different pictures of Xs and Os on various parts of the field.
