FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: DON’T BACK JUDGE ME!
As I continue on my journey to figure out football and what exactly happens in each game, I am constantly learning there are new terms that leave me confused. For the next few days, I will continue on my journey to figure out what it all means, while sharing what came to my mind initially.
Back Judge: What It Means: This is official who checks for too many players on the defensive team and watches the movement of the receivers on his side of the field. They are also the ones who monitors pass interference penalties and determine whether or not catches are legal.
What I Thought It Meant: I simply pictured Judge Judy (or someone equivalent to her) on the field or in the stands giving her verdict of the game.
