FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN PREP DAY 3

FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN PREP DAY 3FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN PREP DAY 3

Another day, another Ironman prep session. Today was a workout at work day, but at least I remained VERY active, which is important. I must admit my eating wasn’t up to par because I was so busy (in fact, I was so busy I skipped lunch, bad Sammi!) but I did have a nice carb loaded meal and will balance it out with protein and other, better foods tomorrow. I’ve also come up with snack ideas for throughout the day so that I keep up my strength and stay fuller longer.

Today’s Workout:

Unloading trucks and unpacking boxes filled with meats, cheeses and deli foods. (45 minutes)

Pushing a U-Cart filled with garbage bags and boxes (15 minutes)

Walking, walking walking!

I know it doesn’t seem like much, but the important thing is that I stayed active. (I tend to focus on fitness for real life, meaning that you don’t need a gym or equipment to work out, you just need to keep it moving!) According to my Fitbit, I walked 20,000 steps, which is double what my goal is each day. Tomorrow, I plan to hit the gym and do a bike and ab session, or if I can’t do abs and stretching at home.

As I mentioned, my food intake today was TERRIBLE! I just had a fiber bar, coffee, tea,  pasta with vodka sauce and orange juice on the side. I admit it was my own fault for not paying attention to the time and working through lunch, but now I know better for tomorrow. Here is a sample meal plan for tomorrow:

Breakfast:

Special K cereal with milk OR pancakes

Coffee

Fruit

Morning snack:

Weis Quality Almond Milk (8 oz)

Banana

Weis Quality frozen raspberries

Juice Plus Dutch chocolate protein powder

OR

Svelte protein shake in Vanilla (depends on how lazy I am in the morning, this girl is NOT a morning person!)

Lunch:

Chicken salad or soup

Clemintine

Afternoon snack:

String cheese

Baby carrots

Dinner:

I am still deciding on this, but will probably have some sort of lean meat, veggies and rice or potato.

Each day I plan to do my best. I know there will be moments when I slip, or don’t feel like training, but I will always bounce back and keep on going toward my goal. Becoming an Ironman finisher and champion is a dream, a mission and something that I cannot wait to accomplish.
