FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN TRAINING PHOTOS
Today’s training session was a bit of a challenge. I was all set to do a run (4 miles was my goal) but disaster struck when my treadmill decided to crap out at mile 2.59! It was too cold to go outside to run, so my plans had to change. I instead worked out on my total body machine and boy, are my muscles sore!
Tomorrow, I hope to get to the gym for a biking session, or at least do another workout at home. (Now that it is winter, everything is subject to change due to the weather.) Either way, a workout will be done.
In addition to working out, I planned out my meals and for the most part, stayed pretty healthy. I did indulge in some wine and ice cream for dessert (okay, and some peanut butter M&Ms, but the peanut butter counts as protein, right? That is my story and I am sticking to it!) but I’d rather have a small treat once a day than deprive myself or go overboard on a cheat day. (Besides, studies say red wine is actually good for us, so who am I to argue?)
Breakfast: 3 egg omelette that turned to scrambled eggs with spinach, pepper, onion, prosciutto and mozzarella. Red pepper, garlic and salt were used for spices, with hot sauce to taste.
Snack: Weis Quality almond milk with banana, chocolate juice plus and Weis Quality frozen raspberries.
Lunch: small portion of leftover pasta with vodka sauce. (Sauce was homemade)
Dinner: Chicken and veggie soup.
Snack: Wine, ice cream and peanut butter M&Ms.
Beverages included coffee and orange juice. I realize I need to up my water intake, which is difficult for me, since water not only has me running to the potty all the time (I know, TMI, but it is annoying) but so boring to drink! I usually add lemon to mine, but need other ways to spice it up. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! I am, however, happy to report that I’ve cut back to one cup of coffee and there have been no Diet Cokes this week! For me to not have a Diet Coke is a minor miracle because at one point I was drinking up to four a day!(I’ve been drinking it since 4th grade too, ugh!)
Anyway, here is a photo montage of my workout from today:
