BASKETBALL IN HIGH HEELS: WHAT IS MARCH MADNESS?
I am not even going to lie. I know absolutely nothing about basketball except Clyde ‘The Glide’ Drexler was on Dancing With The Stars and of course the big-name players, such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Other than that, it is all goobley-de-gook to me.
My interest in the topic began when one of my good friends started talking about March Madness. He is an avid player and fan of the sport and since he often talks about it with me, I thought it would be nice to learn more so I am not standing there with a blank look on my face. Again, this is not to impress anyone, it is just so I can actually contribute to the conversation and not feel like an idiot. Although, to be fair, it would be nice if one of my guy friends would watch The Bachelor with me, but I really can’t have my cake and eat it too. (Who came up with that saying anyway? What good is cake if I can’t eat any?)
Anyway, back to March Madness. I always knew it had something to do with basketball, but I had no idea what the meaning if it was or how it all began. To me, it symbolized the start of basketball season and fans would go mad with excitement. Read: they are like Sammi during the new season of Dancing With The Stars.
It turns out I was not TOO far off when it came to what I thought it was and what it is in real life. The actual March Madness refers to the time of the annual NCAA college basketball tournament, generally throughout the month of March.
I was intrigued, so I did more research to find out more about what to expect this season. While it hasn’t yet begun yet, here is a look at the schedule and where the games are taking place. I will be giving you updates, opinions and more throughout the season, so stay tuned!
