NBC Sports will present Game 1 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final this Monday, May 30 – Memorial Day – at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, when Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins host Joe Thornton and the San Jose Sharks at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Sharks advanced to their first Stanley Cup Final in franchise history with a 5-2 win in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final vs. St. Louis, while Pittsburgh advanced with a 2-1 win in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Four-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member and analyst Eddie Olczyk, and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire will call the 2016 Stanley Cup Final on NBC and NBCSN. This marks the 10th consecutive year that Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire will combine to call the Stanley Cup Final for NBC Sports.

Host Liam McHugh will anchor pre-game, intermission and studio coverage on-site throughout the series, alongside analysts and former players Mike Milbury and Keith Jones. In addition, Kathryn Tappen and Dave Briggs and will host coverage from outside sets in Pittsburgh and San Jose throughout the series, alongside analysts and former players Jeremy Roenick, Brian Boucher, and Anson Carter. Two-hour pre-game coverage for each game will begin at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC SPORTS RADIO TO SERVE AS EXCLUSIVE NATIONAL TERRESTRIAL RADIO PARTNER FOR THE 2016 STANLEY CUP FINAL

NBC Sports Radio, distributed by Westwood One, will serve as the exclusive national terrestrial radio partner for the 2016 Stanley Cup Final, providing broadcast coverage of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final to affiliated and other terrestrial radio stations. The broadcasts will also be available via NBCSportsRadio.com, the NBC Sports Radio App and SiriusXM Satellite Radio., and the TuneIn digital radio platform. A list of stations carrying the Stanley Cup Final will be available on NBCSportsRadio.com.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and Joe Micheletti (analyst) will serve as NBC Sports Radio’s broadcast team for the 2016 Stanley Cup Final.


BLUES-SHARKS IS MOST-WATCHED NON-BLACKHAWKS WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL SINCE 2006

NBC and NBCSN’s coverage of the 2016 Western Conference Final, in which the San Jose Sharks defeated the St. Louis Blues in six games, averaged 1.505 million viewers and produced a 0.9 rating to rank as NBC Sports Group’s most-watched and highest-rated non-Blackhawks Western Conference Final (since 2006). Final viewership information for the Eastern Conference Final will be available later this weekend.
