TV IN HIGH HEELS: DANCING WITH THE STARS RECAP FOR OCTOBER 17, 2016
Hello and welcome to Dancing With The Stars on ABC. Tonight is Latin night for our dancers. Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews are hosting, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Julianne Hough are judging. Len Goodman is in England judging Strictly Come Dancing. Let’s get this party started!
We open with an incredible pro and Pitbull act that has everyone on their feet. Pitbull is also acting as a guest judge. There will be an elimination at the end of the night.
We get to results right away and find out Ryan and Cheryl are safe and dancing first.
Celebrity: Ryan Lochte
Claim To Fame: Olympic swimmer
Pro: Cheryl Burke
Dance: Salsa
FIHH: This dance lesson is like SAT prep. I haven’t taken the SATs in 15 years (damn, I’m old!) and remember how horrible the anxiety was, so he may be onto something there. The dance is good and I certainly see improvement, but it is making me very dizzy. Those lights and special effects just give me a migraine. However, it is a great performance content wise.
Pitbull: He loved the lights and music.
Julianne: He nailed it
Bruno: It was almost radioactive.
Carrie Ann: The musicality wasn’t that great.

There is a piñata that they swing for no apparent reason.
The next couple safe is James and Sharna. Terra and Sasha are also safe. Amber and Makes are in jeopardy. Marilu and Derek are safe.

FIHH: She is such an inspiration and I love her more and more with each passing week. Not only is she a great role model, but an incredible dancer who puts her all into everything she does. She seemed to struggle with this dance, but she didn’t let it slow her down. She just did her thing and radiated like a boss.
Julianne: Not her best dance, but she enjoyed it.
Bruno: He offers places to improve.
Carrie Ann: It was a bit one dimensional.
Pitbull: She thought ahead and did a great job.
Score: 7-8-8-7=30 out of 40
Celebrity: Amber Rose
Claim To Fame: Model/talk show host
Pro: Maks Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Cha cha cha
FIHH: They keep fighting and she tries to leave rehearsal, but he won’t let her. She finally comes around and they do a very different cha cha cha. I am not sure what I think of it. It’s very sexy, but for me, it is missing something.
Bruno: He gives her pointers on how to improve, but he did enjoy parts of it. He just wants more.
Carrie Ann: She needs to break through that glass ceiling.
Pitbull: She is gorgeous and commends her for how she delivered it.
Julianne: She wants more intensity in her moves.

FIHH: His Ricardo side is hilarious. I love him more and more every week. This was his best dance to date and proved he belongs in the finals.
Carrie Ann: She loved everything about it.
Pitbull: It was sexy, powerful and lust.
Julianne: He needs a tiny bit more chemistry with Sharna.
Bruno: A triumph.

FIHH: This is totally the opposite of last week. She is flirty, fun and just lights up the dance floor. She is incredible and seems like she is having the time of her life. I think she is definitely improving both in dance and confidence.
Pitbull: He loved it!
Julianne: This is what Latin dance is all about.
Bruno: Elegant and sexy.
Carrie Ann: This was her dance.

Laurie and Val are SAFE! Calvin and Lindsay are in jeopardy (WTF!!!!). Maureen and Artem are also SAFE!! Jana and Gleb are in jeopardy and dancing next.

Dance: Argentine tango
FIHH: Um….I am not sure if they want us to leave the room? I think we all need a cigarette after that one, sheesh. They weren’t kidding when they said it would be the sexiest Argentine tango ever done. WOW.
Julianne: That was chemistry and improvement.
Bruno: Down and dirty and sensational.
Carrie Ann: Sexy is the easy route, but they dance like they are going for the win.
Pitbull: It’s getting hot in here.
Scores: PERFECT SCORE
Celebrity: Maureen McCormick
Claim To Fame: Marsha Brady on The Brady Bunch
Pro: Artem Chigvintsev
Dance: Samba
FIHH: She seems very stressed this week. While she is dancing very well, she seems very off. I think she is letting her nerves get the best of her once again. That being said, technique wise she is head and shoulders above where she was in the beginning. She just needs to relax.
Bruno: She did well, but shouldn’t force the bounce.
Carrie Ann: Her spirit beings the dance to life.
Pitbull: There was a lot of overthinking, but she did well.
Julianne: She showed what Latin night is all about.
Scores: 8-7-8-8=31 out of 40
Aww, her hubby is there to greet her and share how much he loves her.
Celebrity: Calvin Johnson Jr/Megatron
Claim To Fame: NFL legend/Detroit Lions WR
Pro: Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Argentine tango
FIHH: This was one of the best Argentine tangos of the season. I even liked it better than Jana and Gleb’s. It was sexy, but not over the top and those lifts and flips were some of the best I’ve ever seen.
Carrie Ann: That worked!
Pitbull: Way to bring it home!
Julianne: He owned it.
Bruno: He was smoldering tonight.

Pro: Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Salsa
FIHH: I like how she keeps everything age appropriate. She is a ball of energy and so much fun to watch. She has amazing technique and musicality. Unless America decides to pull a Sabrina Bryan, she is so in the finals.
Pitbull: That was amazing!
Julianne: She is phenomenal, but needs to improve on some parts of her posture.
Bruno: She killed it!
Carrie Ann: She is the most powerful performer.

The couple that has the lowest overall scores and therefore leaving right now is…..Amber and Maks.
