TV IN HIGH HEELS: THE NEW CELEBRITY APPRENTICE RECAP FOR JANUARY 22, 2017

TV IN HIGH HEELS: THE NEW CELEBRITY APPRENTICE RECAP FOR JANUARY 22, 2017

Hello and welcome to The All New Celebrity Apprentice on NBC. This week’s first task is to work on a campaign for Lorissa’s Kitchen. They have to make a PR stunt using a snack box they are given by the company. Bob Harper is the advisor on hand.

Lisa and Brooke are the PMs for their teams. The winner will get $50,000 for their chosen charity.

Team Arete

Team Arete decides to focus on weight loss and Boy George’s story of how he lost 70 lbs. They decide to make a lounge instead of a kitchen. Brooke also wants to do a booty popping fitness segment.

Brooke says she plans on winging it for part of the project, since she thinks it is one of those things that you just have to play it safe. So she is contradicting herself? I am confused. Bob also thinks playing it safe is going to kill it.

Their presentation is fun and people seem to like the workout. Boy George’s weight loss story also seems to be inscriptional.

Team Prima

Team Prima wants to use fitness girls in bikinis, but Carson isn’t sure if that is on brand. He also worries that women would find it offensive. Lisa wants to make sure to use everyone’s ideas while still staying on brand.

They also want to do a fitness segment, but want to top Brooke’s idea. Porsha wants to share some ideas, but feels like Lisa is ‘putting her in the corner,’ so to speak.  The others are also seeing that Lisa isn’t as nice as she seems. Lisa, however, thinks Chael is a BSer and not giving her 100%.

Ideas keep changing, so everyone is confused as to what they should be doing.

Their presentation seems to be very similar to the other teams, except they add a selfie corner.

Boardroom time!

Arnold tells them to get tough because it is at the halfway point of the competition.

Each team gives the pros and cons of working together. Brooke doesn’t think Ricky contributed many ideas, but he says he waits until he has something to say before speaking up.

The advisors then give their pros and cons. Arnold says Team Arete wins, which means Brooke’s charity Operation Smile will get $50,000.

The dancing girls seem to have caused an issue, which Vince keeps arguing was a good idea. However, a lot of the blame seems to fall on the shoulders of Lisa and Chael.

Lisa brings back Chael and Vince. There is a lot of arguing, especially between Lisa and Chael. She thinks he is weak and only spoke up when they lost. He thinks she should be fired, while Vince owns his mistake and says he should be fired. Arnold agrees and sends him ‘to the choppa.’

Chael is not happy with these results because he thinks Lisa should have been eliminated. He goes off on some rant and I ignore it because I don’t care.

The second hour kicks off with them in Universal Studios. Boy George is not present due to a prior engagement.

The task is to create a celebrity inspired brochure to promote the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The PMs are Matt and Carson. Matt quips that if he had to do it all again, he would go to Hogwarts. Carson, however, doesn’t know anything about Harry Potter.

MATT:

Matt decides to make The Daily Prophet, which is going to be like a Harry Potter inspired newspaper. He gets really into it and it is actually kind of adorable. Laila wants it to be reeled in a bit because not everyone is into Harry Potter.

Matt seems to be having too much fun, so they have to reel him in and get him back on task.

At the war room, Brooke is worried that their idea of making the newspaper is too ambitious. Matt starts to see her point and starts to worry as well.

CARSON:

Carson and Porsha want to make it into a red carpet/wizard inside them type of idea. Lisa also offers ways to make it stand out, while Chael decides to nap.

Carson’s team tries to get pictures, but it is so crowded and some of the pictures don’t come out as planned. They also worry about getting enough time with the designer.

Once they are back, they realize their celebrity idea may not work out, so they try to make do with the pictures they have. However, they begin to run out of time, which makes Chael upset. He seems to have cut the cord of the computer. He thinks this will stop the clock and give them more time. Lisa is upset about this because he proved to be a liar and a cheat. Carson also worries that this will get them all in trouble.

Each team then presents their brochure and it is actually quite cute. I can’t decide which team did the better presentation. Carson is still worried about the Chael debacle.

Boardroom time!

Arnold quips that Matt’s love for Harry Potter is probably why he isn’t married. They joke a bit about it and how embarrassing it will be if he loses.

Carson brings up the cord being cut and how Chael was responsible. Porsha and Lisa echo his worry and how it was his way of trying to buy them more time. Lisa adds that it is a weird experience.

Chael argues that he did it for the good of the team. He is told that what he did is considered cheating and is fired.

The teams get the pros and cons of each project and then we find out that Team Arete won. Matt gets $50,000 for his charity The Arthritis Foundation. This is his second win for the charity.

Team Prima now must fire someone. Carson takes on responsibility for everything that happened.

Lisa thinks she is the strongest player left on her team and that Porsha is their weak link.

Porsha thinks Carson is the stronger of the two. This leads to an argument between Porsha and Lisa. Porsha refuses to give an answer as to who should be fired, so Arnold ends up firing her, not because of that, but also because she lost six out of the eight tasks.

Tune in next week for more boardroom drama!
