NASCAR IN HIGH HEELS: CELEBRATING 500 EPISODES
STAMFORD, Conn. – March 9, 2017 – NASCAR America, NBCSN’s daily motorsports show, will air its 500th episode this Monday, March 13 at 5:30 p.m. ET. In recognition of the milestone, Monday’s episode will break down the latest news coming out of this weekend’s racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as well as highlight the most memorable moments in NASCAR America’s past three years.
NASCAR America launched February 24, 2014 on NBCSN, as a daily 30-minute news and information program dedicated to the nation’s longstanding fascination with speed and stock car racing. Since its debut, the show has expanded from half-hour episodes to 90-minute telecasts, added new studios, created more than 20 daily and weekly segments, and welcomed a growing collection of on-air hosts, analysts and recurring guests.
NASCAR on NBC’s lead race announcer Rick Allen (@RickAllenracing) hosted the debut episode of NASCAR Americaon the Monday after the 2014 Daytona 500. “The Mayor” of NASCAR and analyst Jeff Burton (@JeffBurton) joined Allen from NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn., while reporters Marty Snider (@heymartysnider), Kelli Stavast (@KelliStavast) and NBCSports.com’s lead motorsports writer Nate Ryan (@nateryan) contributed from the racing hotbed of Charlotte, N.C.
Before he officially joined NASCAR America as an analyst, Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte (@SteveLetarte) was a guest on the debut episode of the show, following his victory with Dale Earnhardt Jr. the previous night in the 2014 Daytona 500.
“Are you kidding me? 500 episodes already, that’s crazy!” said Kyle Petty, NASCAR America analyst. “It’s more like having a conversation with a friend, than it is like putting on a live show.”
“Working on NASCAR America and hearing from the sport’s passionate fan base as they engage with our coverage has been incredibly memorable,” said Burton. “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone and look forward to the next 500.”
NASCAR America host Carolyn Manno (@Carolynmanno) will anchor next week’s coverage from Stamford, Conn. Three-time Daytona 500 Champion and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett (@DaleJarrett), Kyle Petty, Letarte, Burton and analyst Parker Kligerman (@pkligerman) will join Manno throughout the week.
