FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: NFL DRAFT 2017 What is it?
HAPPY NFL DRAFT DAY! I’ve been excited for this for weeks, although I have no clue what is going on. We have intro music, grades, colleges—is this the end of senior year of high school or football? I kid, I kid, but seriously, I want to know how all this works. So let’s go on the Learning Sports In High Heels train and figure this out—with a fashionable thinking cap and a good six inches, of course!

So the NFL Draft—What Sammi Thought: I knew it was choosing the new talent for the NFL teams,
but after that it was all gooblely-gook to me. I imagined A Chorus Line with NFL players instead of Headband Dude and minus One Singular Sensation, every little step she takes. One, thrilling combination, every move that she makes…wait, where was I? Well, we do have a thrilling combination, just no singing.
What The NFL Draft REALLY Is: (Thank you, Wikipedia!): The National Football League Draft, also called the player selection meeting, is an annual event in which the National Football League (NFL) teams select eligible college football players. It serves as the league’s most common source of player recruitment
Sammi’s Thoughts: Like Pokemon, with no Ash, no Poke-balls and no Pikachu!
Totally kidding again! So it is picking the best of the best from college teams and giving them the chance to play for the NFL! (Yes, I wrote best of the best in Will Smith’s Men In Black voice. So sue me!)
So what’s up with those grades? I thought that was a school thing, but apparently it is important to get into the NFL.
