Dancing With The Stars: Athletes’ Edition Announces First Cast Members

UPDATED 4/6/2018: Jennie Finch has been added to the cast. See below for more information.

The official announcement won’t be made until April 13th, but several sources have revealed three contestants for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.

As previously reported, the show will have an all athlete, accelerated season. Ten athletes will compete over a one month period, as opposed to the usual ten week season.

The athletes said to compete are as follows:

Former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding. The former ice princess earned the reputation of being the sport’s ‘bad girl’ during the 1994 Olympics, when she allegedly helped plan an attack on fellow competitor (and season 24 fan favorite) Nancy Kerrigan. The blonde 47-year-old has since stopped skating and recently had a movie made about her life called I, Tonya. (Mom star Allison Janney won an Oscar for her portrayal of Tonya’s mother.)

Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson. The 27-yer old snowboarder impressed us at both the Sochi and  Pyeongchang games. She has a total of 11 medals (four gold, five silver and two bronze) for snowboarding (three of which she earned during both Olympic games). She is also the first female snowboarder to the home two Olympic gold medals.

Olympic skater Adam  Rippon: The figure skater was most recently seen at the  Pyeongchang Olympic games. While there, he won the bronze medal for his figure skating team event. He also made history for becoming the first openly gay athlete to win a medal at the Winter Olympics.

Olympic Softball Player Jennie Finch: This former Olympian has previous reality TV experience. She appeared on an episode of Real Housewives of Orange County and competed on Celebrity Apprentice in 2008.  In addition to her athletic talent,  the blonde bombshell is known for her Christian values.
