8/11 Braves @ Yankees

BASEBALL IN HIGH HEELS: TV ALERT

The home team got off to a rolling start against the Braves as Luke Voit hit a three run homer in the bottom of the first inning. The Bronx Bombers manufactured runs in the bottom of the third starting with walks to DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge. A single for Aaron Hicks would load the bases. Voit would line out but LeMahieu would score. Mike Ford would double allowing two more runs and putting the Yankees up 6-0. Still more runs in the fifth inning starting with another homer by Judge, his ninth of the year so far. Bases loaded by two walks and a hit by pitch would cause Ford to ground into a double play but not before Hicks scored.

Braves would start to claw their way back in the sixth as Jordan Montgomery started to struggle with his command, finally giving up a three run homer to Marcell Ozuna.

Mike Tauchman would pinch-hit for Judge in the sixth. Manager Aaron Boone saying he wanted to give Judge some rest after playing four games on artificial turf.

Both teams would add another run to the scores in the seventh, making it 9-4. The Braves would tack on two more in the eighth, bringing them within three, but would not be able to finish the comeback.

Yankees win 9-6 after leading 8-0 at one point.
