Fourth inning, DJ LeMahieu appears to be injured during a swing. Yankees put out a statement saying he had injured his thumb and would be getting tests done. Tyler Wade comes in for LeMahieu.

The hits kept coming for the Yankees. Clint Frazier hits a three run blast in the sixth. Another run scores on a double by Wade. More runs in the seventh manufactured by Frazier and Gardner. Yankees lead 11-3.
The Red Sox weren’t out yet. First at bat of the ninth inning Alex Verdugo hits a line drive to center field for a home run. A single for the next batter puts a man on base. With two outs, Kevin Pillar triples as a ball, and Gardner hit the wall, and subsequently the ground, in center field. One final out leaves the score at 11-5, Yankees win.
