Tampa Bay began where they left off at the end of the last series against the Yankees. A two run homer by Ji-Man Choi in the first with another home run in the second puts the Rays up 3-0. Gerrit Cole would load the bases in the fifth before allowing another run to score. Cole would get out of the inning, but the damage was done. Choi would get another hit in the sixth which would put the Rays up 5-0.
The Yankees finally got on the board with a home run by Gio Urshela in the seventh. And Luke Voit would hit a two run shot of his own in the eighth, but the Rays would prevent the home team from adding on in the ninth.
Rays win 5-3.
